Talking about the ultimate sacrifice.

The recent deadly coronavirus outbreak has gripped the world, and health practitioners have been working round the clock to contain the disease and treat the infected patients.

Doctors and nurses have been so busy that it is not an exaggeration to say that they are practically living in hospitals and have no time to attend to their personal matters.

For some, they don’t even have time to attend their own wedding.

Rushed back to treat patients

China Times reported that a doctor spent a mere 10 minutes at his own wedding before rushing off to treat patients infected with coronavirus.

Wow, speaking of sacrifice!

The report said that the wedding, which was held in Heze, a city in Shandong Province, could not be postponed as it would be inauspicious, which was why they decided to proceed with the festivities.

Quickie wedding for this doctor.
To cut the wedding short, several wedding festivities were cancelled. In fact, the wedding was such a touch-and-go event, only five people attended, including the bride and groom, the groom’s parents, and the marriage officiant.

As the bride's parents couldn't make it to the wedding, she reportedly video-called them shortly after the ceremony.

Dr Li Zhiqiang, an obstetrician at the Shandong University No. 2 Hospital, reportedly rushed back straight to his workplace which was three hours away by car after the wedding without even having his lunch.

What a dedicated doctor! We salute you!
