School is back in session, and for parents who are sending their child to school for the first time, it can be an interesting and nerve-wrecking experience.
It is every child’s and parents’ dream to be able to study in a conducive, happy environment but what happens if your kid’s classroom ends up looking a bit… sad?
For one father, he went the extra mile (or a few miles we shall say) to decorate his child’s classroom to make it look livelier.
Akhi Fairuz Al-Jengkawi
recently shared via Twitter his experience painting and redecorating his child’s classroom along with his wife.
The tweet has received over 9,000 retweets and over 11,000 likes to date.
He gave the classroom quite the makeover by repainting the walls, cabinets, wrapping the tables with plastic cover, installing wallpaper and even new curtains.
His child had just started standard one at SK Taman Uda, Alor Setar, Kedah.
“The makeover was completed not within a day but a week. Kedah’s weather was so hot at that time. We’re grateful that another parent decided to help as well on the second day after I updated our progress on Facebook,” Akhi said.
The family used their free time during the Chinese New Year holidays to do the makeover.
“Others may be off on a holiday or went back to their hometowns but we had our ‘vacation’ in school instead.”
“I hope my story will inspire many others. We shouldn’t be calculative when it comes to our children’s education. We should give as much as we can.”
The father added that he plans to beautify his child’s classes each year until he or she enters standard six.
Netizen praised Akhi and his wife’s effort in using on time and money to decorate their child’s classroom.
Some were inspired by his actions while others also shared similar stories with him.
Kudos to you, sir! You are definitely among the rare bunch and may your tale inspire others to do so.
