Imagine taking a stroll at your family's palm oil plantation and you stumble upon a great discovery.
And no, we're not talking about a RM50 banknote or your favourite toy you lost when you're a kid.
We're talking about something that is older than human civilisation.
Well, that was exactly what happened to one luck woman in Bangkok.
A Jurassic discovery
According to AsiaOne
, the woman named Pinthip Koktung reportedly found three fossils on her family’s palm oil plantation in the Sa Kaeo province last Sunday (1 December).
She uploaded a couple of pictures of the discovery on her Facebook page, and it quickly went viral:
Another facebook page called “Fossil World” explained that the fossils belong to the crinoids species, which, in layman's term, are echinoderms related to the starfish and sea urchins from the Paleozoic Era.
As such, the fossils could be as old as 250 million years old
Officials from the Department of Mineral Resources are reportedly set to inspect the fossils, the news portal said.
In the meantime, several people have reportedly contacted Pinthip in hopes of buying the fossils from her, but she reportedly hasn’t decided to sell them.
She should keep it and turn it into a family heirloom, right?
