Here’s a heartwarming story of an unlikely friendship between a bread man and a street artist.
Street artist Acit Raman Abdullah remembers vividly how he used to doodle on the ground as a child. Acit Raman also remembers Muniandi, the humble bread man who still recognises his childhood love of doodling on the ground.
Acit Raman’s Facebook post about the hardworking bread seller in Penang gained internet fame after he shared fond memories of growing up with him over the past 30 years.
According to a report by the Malay Mail Online
, Acit Raman decided to contact Muniandi to ask if he and fellow artist Andhar A Samah could do a mural of him for the Balik Pulau Festival.
“I went to his home to approach him about doing the mural. Before I could even introduce myself, he said he knew where my house was back in the day.
“I never expected him to remember me. I feel so touched.
“He even remembers my mum and how she always used to exchange coins with him in the past,” Acit wrote on in the Facebook post.
That was the story behind the gorgeous mural of the humble breadman that's adorning a wall in Balik Pulau.
Acit's post has since garnered more than 5,200 'likes' and 1,800 shares on the social media site.
Acit Raman said he is impressed by Muniandi’s sacrifices for his family as he successfully brought up his children to become doctors, lawyers and chemical engineers.
