It's finally here!

Boys and girls, remember the infamous ‘Visit Malaysia Year 2020’ logo that drew flak from a lot of people for being horrendous and totally amateurish?

Well, the good news is, we can finally erase the old logo from our memory, as we now have a new Visit Malaysia 2020 campaign logo and spoiler alert: it looks so much better.

Take a look:

What do you guys think about the new logo?
According to Bernama, the logo -- which features elements that Malaysians are familiar with, like a hornbill and a hibiscus, in the colours of the Jalur Gemilang -- was created by a 23-year-old graphic designer from Malacca.

And in case you're wondering, no; there's no smiling orangutan or turtle in sunglasses this time.

Alfred Phua Hong Fook’s winning logo, chosen from hundreds of logos submitted in a nationwide logo competition, showcased the diversity of Malaysia's culture, heritage, flora and fauna, as well as its experiences as a holiday destination.

Like a proud parent.
The logo was launched by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad on Monday (22 July).

The unveiling of the new logo came at a crucial time as next year, the government has set a goal of achieving at least 30 million international tourist arrivals and RM100 billion tourist receipts, with a focus on ecotourism, arts and culture.

The newly-designed logo is a step in the right direction.
