You know the saying 'you don't know how much something means to you until it's gone'? Well, it hasn't even happened yet, but we are already dreading it.
National Water Services Commission (SPAN) has warned Malaysians that a massive water disruption is coming next week.
According to a report by The New Straits Times
, the water disruption is set to take place on 24 April
, and your taps could go dry for up to 86 hours
SPAN chairman Charles Santiago told the daily that the disruption is caused by upgrading works on the electrical supply system located at the Sungai Selangor Phase 2 Water Treatment Plant (LRA SSP2).
Santiago said the upgrading works were urgently needed as an electrical system failure could cause even more unplanned water disruptions.
As such, Santiago said the water disruption on 24 April will affect 620,835 account holders or 4,143,465 consumers in 577 areas in Shah Alam
, Petaling Jaya
, Kuala Lumpur
, Kuala Selangor
, Kuala Langat
However, he added that Air Selangor will be taking several measures to minimise the inconvenience caused by the water disruption, such as providing water tankers, static tanks and water refilling stations around the affected areas.
Start storing water now, boys and girls. You have almost a week to do so.
