We know a lot of you out there are excited about the implementation of the 5G network, but it looks like you have to wait awhile longer.
Multimedia and Communications Minister Gobind Singh Deo told Astro Awani that 5G will only be implemented in the country after a thorough study by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).
According to Gobind, the government will go through all angles, including the availability of the infrastructures, before they decided whether to implement it or not.
However, Gobind has assured Malaysians that the country will not be left behind in the 5G race.
That was why the 5G Malaysia Showcase exhibition, set to be launched this Thursday, is important for the study.
The aim of the showcase is to highlight the potential of 5G and the public can try, first-hand, the use cases and demos from various organisations.
"We are still in the midst bringing these infrastructure to all parts of Malaysia, but that doesn’t mean that we should sit and be quiet while other countries are embracing new technology.
“I believe that this can be done concurrently, and that is what we are doing here,” he was quoted as saying.
Let's hope we'll get 5G in Malaysia soon, guys!
