Come back, Internet!
You guys know the saying, "If you want to really know what a person is like, take away his internet" or something like that?
We have a feeling there were lots of angry people over the weekend.
That's because Telekom Malaysia (TM) decided to not give anyone internet on Saturday and Sunday, although it was technically not entirely their fault.
The internet provided has confirmed that its internet services, namely unifi, Streamyx and unifi Mobile, have been down or experienced a slowdown since 11pm on Saturday.
According to a statement posted on their Facebook group, the disruption in their services was due to multiple fibre cable cut incidents
by third-party contractors in Sabak Bernam and Sentul.
MRT and WCE construction works are being carried out in those areas, so the contractors might have damaged the cables by accident.
The unfortunate accident reportedly affected internet accessibility in Central, Northern and Eastern regions, as well as Sabah and Sarawak.
In case you're still experiencing a slowdown, hang in there for a while more as TM is working on getting the cables fixed as we speak.
While we're waiting for TM to restore the internet, why not go outside and smell the flowers or go pet a real cow? We guarantee you it'll be fun.
