Every step you take, every move you make..
You know that feeling when you walk into a place and you have this feeling that somebody's watching you?
That place could soon be Penang.
According to a report by The Star Online
, the little island up north could be the first state in Malaysia to install facial recognition cameras to detect and catch criminals.
Penang's police chief Comm Datuk Seri A. Thaiveegan told the news portal that these cameras will be installed in public places.
So, how does this facial recognition system work?
Let's say you're a bad guy (not Erik Killmonger, because, come on, you don't have the abs). When you set foot in Penang, these cameras will immediately pick you up and identify you.
A computer system linked to the cameras will then run through your criminal record and if you're listed in the police's 'Wanted' list, the system will then alert the police and a SWAT team will then swoop in to bust your a$$.
However, as cool and scary as it sounds, Thaiveegan said this system is just rolling out and a decision will be made in about six months' time.
Remember not to simply dig your nose when you're in Penang; they are watching you.
