Seven is said to be a lucky number, but for Sir Mick Jagger, it may not be the case as he is set to be a dad again for the eighth time at the ripe old age of 72! The Rolling Stones frontman, who already has seven children from his previous relationships will welcome his first child with 29-year-old American ballerina, Melanie Hamrick in the beginning of 2017 (January to be exact).
The Sun has a source who said: “Mick really respects the fact that she has always been very low key and discreet about their relationship. There’s trust there.” However the tabloid reported that Hamrick will not live with Jagger in London but rather stay in Los Angeles or Connecticut.
A representative for Jagger confirmed the news to The Sun, while a source for the publication stated that Mick is unbelievably supportive and that nothing fazes him. He has four children – Lizzy, 32, James, 30, Georgia May, 24, Gabriel, 18 with his ex-partner Jerry Hall who is now married to media mogul Rupert Murdoch. With his wife of eight years Bianca Jagger, Mick had daughter Jade, 44 and with singer Marsha Hunt, he had daughter Karis, 45. Mick also has 16-year-old Lucas with Brazilian model Luciana Gimenez Mora. He was notably left devastated when his ex, L’Wren Scott, was found dead in her Manhattan apartment two years ago following a suicide; they had been together for 13 years. And earlier this year Mick, who actually has five grandchildren, only just became a great-grandfather.
The mother of Mick’s future child is said to be “very bright, intelligent, sparky and has her own ideas about how she wants to lead her life”, according to Daily Mail. Hamrick was born in Virginia and trained as a ballerina at the Eastern Virginia School for the Performing Arts before joining the Krov Academy of Ballet in Washington D.C. for five years.
The Daily Mail reported that he had introduced Hamrick to his children earlier this year when she vacationed with him at his holiday home on a private Caribbean island. The news of Jagger becoming a dad again comes less than two months after his bandmate Ronnie Wood, 68 welcomed his fifth and sixth children, twin daughters Gracie Jane and Alice Rose with his wife Sally Humphreys, according to the Straits Times. Looks like these grandpa rockers can’t stop spreading their seed and we are pleased to see that they are still blissfully welcoming new life.
