When we talk about fried chicken, one place will always instantly pop-up in our minds: KFC. The tender white meat, crispy aromatic skin, and the taste of the 11 herbs and spices melting in your mouth will make your heart burst with happiness and euphoria.
But what happens when you’re dying to satisfy your fried chicken craving only to find out it’s closed?
Not one outlet, but hundreds of KFC outlets!
Well, this might just be the scenario faced by thousands of KFC lovers in the UK.
The popular fast-food chain announced on Monday that it was forced to close hundreds of KFC outlets throughout the UK due to one reason we feel that shouldn’t happen at all – chicken shortage.
Yes, you read that right, KFC UK is having a chicken shortage crisis! How could a chicken connoisseur run out of chicken?! That’s like going to McDonald’s and them telling you they’ve run out of burgers.
A total of 900 outlets
were closed in Britain and the remaining outlets that are still in operation were forced to run on a limited menu or shortened operating hours.
KFC cited that switching delivery partners to DHL has caused the delay in getting the chickens delivered. DHL in turn blamed “operational issues” for the crisis.
Well, let’s hope such crisis won’t happen in Malaysia, or there will be an angry mob of avid fried chicken lovers in front of KFC.
