A group of students from Multimedia University Cyberjaya just won the coveted Flying Elephant award at the Toonz Animation Masters Summit held in Trivandrum, Kerala for their animated short film, The Cliff House.

The short film, initially submitted as a final year project last November, is about an old man who is determined to build a tower to achieve his goals.

The team of four consists of Tan Lih Haur, Wong Jin Yao, Woon Chee Khai and Kong Wei Cheng.

Instead of just keeping it in college as a final project, they were inspired to polish up the short film and submit to as many local and international competitions as they can.

Their hard work paid off as they were also nominated in the 4th International Festival of Short Films on Culture & Tourism, which was held in March at Jaipur, India.

Tan told The Sun that their next target is to look for jobs.

"We had a discussion on possibly collaborating for future projects but at present we want to seek for jobs and get better at what we do," he was quoted as saying.

It is great to see more young Malaysians making a name for Malaysia lately.

Congratulations once again to the students from Multimedia University!
