It was reported that a Cambodian national was detained for disguising as a Muslim
begging for donations at a Ramadan bazaar in Sura Gate, Dungun, Terengganu on Tuesday. Dungun Social Welfare Department officer, Naufar Yusof, said that the suspect was caught after failing to recite the Syahadah
(a testimony declaring belief in the oneness of Allah and Muhammad as His Prophet) when asked to do so.

The Cambodian man was among nine people arrested in an operation that included the police, Immigration Department, Health Department and the National Anti-Drug Agency. The man had managed to collect RM200 in just two hours by posing as a beggar.
Naufar said that the department would keep on participating in such operations to curb begging and illegal fund-raising activities in the district to protect the public from being cheated.
Looks like buying spoiled food at a Ramadan bazaar isn't the only thing patrons have to watch out for these days.
