Nothing is more satisfying than indulging in a sweet, cold treat to soothe your thirst on a hot, summer day. Oh you know, that gratifying feeling on your taste buds upon the first lick or bite that instantaneously melts in your mouth accompanied by the crunchy texture of nuts elevating your gastronomical experience. What’s this sweet, cold treat we’re talking about? It’s none other than the dessert that makes everyone scream for, ice cream.
This creamy, cool delight that comes in all kinds of flavours and shapes are bound to put a smile on anyone’s face. But what if we told you that there’s something bigger and better that could satisfy your inner thirst and undying devotion for ice cream? How, you may ask? Well, prepare to be blown away by the Museum of Ice Cream. We know what you might be thinking – a museums dedicated only for ice creams?! Yes, our sweet, velvety dreams have finally come true.
The Museum of Ice Cream is only a block away from the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York and will be opened for one month starting this 29th July. Ice cream fans who visit the museum during the inauguration will be treated to a sweet delight – free ice creams! Imagine going home with an ice cream coma (and possible brain freeze). That’s not the only exciting part though, there will be a pool filled with rainbow sprinkles (that are sadly inedible) complete with a ladder and springboard for you to drown in happiness. *internally screams and jumps for joy*

The sugar-filled fun doesn’t end with the sprinkle pool, visitors will be treated to an immersive chocolate room, a gigantic collaborative ice cream sundae, edible balloons, and also an area called “Tinder Land” which was co-created by the dating app. The “Tinder Land” is basically a setup of an ice cream scooper seesaw and an ice cream sandwich swing where people can meet by “discovering their true flavour match."

Ardent fans of ice cream will also have a chance to taste a specially-curated list of ice creams by notable New York ice cream makers such as Black Tap, Chinatown Ice Cream Factory, and OddFellows Ice Cream Co. Now, this is one trip to the museum you surely don’t want to miss.

Ticket price starts from USD$12 (RM48.97) and also includes a complimentary ice cream. But the bad news though, the tickets are all sold out. However, you can sign up
for ticket updates or maybe create a petition to create a pop-up ice cream museum in Malaysia because we Malaysians equally have the need to indulge in all the fun and sweet creamy goodness of ice cream.
In the meantime, you can feast your eyes on their wonderfully curated Instagram
to help tease your taste buds (and eyes).
