Director Todd Philipps’ ‘Joker’, starring the phenomenal Joaquin Phoenix, is currently taking the box office by storm.
The standalone film about the infamous Gotham villain received rave reviews not only from fans but from critics as well.
But for one person, the new ‘Joker’ film may not be his cup of tea. In fact, he tried to cancel the whole thing from the get-go.
According to The Hollywood Reporter
, actor Jared Leto, who played Joker in 'Suicide Squad', complained about the new 'Joker' movie to both his movie and music agents, and he allegedly asked them to get in touch with Warner Bros.’ parent company and tried to get them to cancel the movie.
Apparently, the 30 Seconds To Mars frontman thought that Warner Bros. had him in mind for the standalone film following his appearance in ‘Suicide Squad’.
Sadly, Leto received just about 10 minutes of screen time in the film.
“Sources say Leto told his agents that they should stop the rival project, arguing that he wasn’t being treated properly as an Oscar winner,” The Hollywood Reporter
Wow, doesn't he sound like someone who feels he's entitled and is in dire need of a slice of humble pie?
Following the bitter tirade, it appears that Leto has parted ways with his agents whom he initially approached to help him terminate Philipps’ ‘Joker’.
On top of that, he will no longer play the iconic villain in the Harley Quinn’s ‘Bird of Prey’ spin-off, as well as the ‘Suicide Squad 2’ sequel directed by James Gunn.
So, who do you think did a better job at playing the Joker? Jared Leto or Joaquin Phoenix?
