We were recently treated to the list of movies and TV series coming up in Phase Four
of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
However, you may have noticed that 'Black Panther 2'
was not included in Marvel's announcement at the 2019 San Diego Comic Con (SDCC).
This looks strange to some fans considering the success that 'Black Panther' enjoyed last year. The movie has made at least USD1.3bil (RM5.45bil) to date and it is one of the top 10 highest-grossing movies of all time!
Although there has not been much word surrouding a sequel, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige did mention once that there are plans to continue the much-loved story of Black Panther.
While the world still don't know much about the follow-up, there are already rumours surrounding the new villain.
According to We Got This Covered
, Henry Golding is being eyed for the role
Industry insiders told the publication that Disney is considering our homegrown Hollywood actor to play Namor
, a kind of human-mermaid hybrid who was one of Marvel’s first anti-heroes.
Namor and the Atlantis realm first made it into the MCU in 'Iron Man 2' and possibly teased in 'Avengers: Endgame' when Okoyo mentioned some underwater earthquakes on the African continent.
Well, Golding's role is not confirmed at the moment and we should not take it too seriously for now. But it sure is exciting to hear a Malaysian presence in the MCU!
A fan actually took this rumour one step further by creating a digital poster of the actor as the King of Atlantis, complete with the pointed ears, armour and weaponry that are true to the comics.
The artist named the sequel 'Two Kings' as an added touch.
What do you think of BossLogic's interpretation?
Henry Golding's debut in the MCU is still up in the air at the moment, but one thing's for certain though for now though: you could catch 21 MCU movies right now on Astro Best (Ch 481)
and On Demand
That's right; you could purchase the MCU movies - starting from 'Iron Man' all the way to 'Avengers: Endgame' - and binge watch them all from the comfort of your own home. For more information, click here
