Remember the whole ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ kerfuffle that took over the internet earlier this month? (You can read it here
Paramount Pictures and the production team were heavily criticised after the titular blue character they designed look more like an ugly, deranged raccoon compared to its cute video game counterpart.
A few days after the backlash from fans took over the internet, the film's director Jeff Fowler responded and said that the team heard the message “loud and clear”, and they are working on redesigning Sonic as they are "fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be.”
Fans were immediately relieved to hear the news but many pointed out that since the premiere date was supposedly be on 8 November, will they have enough time to remake the whole thing?
Well, we now have a definite, new date for ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’.
Fowler tweeted a photo of Sonic’s hand holding a sign with a new date “2-14-20” with the caption “Taking a little more time to make Sonic just right. #novfxartistswereharmedinthemakingofthismovie”.
So, fans can look forward to an all-new, more realistic looking Sonic on 14 February 2020
Let’s hope that the additional three months is ample for the team to bring justice to Sonic.
