The long-awaited sensational songstress, Selena Gomez arrived in Malaysia on July 24, as part of her Revival tour concert stop. She is considered a phenomenal success and is much loved by tweens all over the world. Gomez arrived at 8pm and was received by hundreds of her fans at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). Despite a protest by PAS Youth to have her concert cancelled, the concert in Malaysia went on as scheduled.
She landed and was quickly snapped with fans in which she documented on her snapchat. The Selena Gomez Malaysia Twitter page fan club admin, Syazwin Aireena Norhazani told Bernama that she and the other fans had prepared a special scrapbook, containing their well wishes for Selena since the singer recently celebrated her 24th birthday last Saturday.
4,000 Selenators (what Selena’s fans call themselves) swamped Stadium Malawati to see the artiste perform. She wore a long-sleeved black turtleneck and loose silk pants, flashing her fans a gleaming smile before singing songs from her latest album and some old favourites. Due to much objection from the PAS Youth and the JAKIM regulations being very stringent, Gomez said she chose her outfit out of reverence for Malaysia’s culture and religion. “New outfit out of respect for the culture and religion of Malaysia,” said a tweet on Selena Gomez News (@SelenaHQ).
Gomez sang hits from her latest release such as Good For You, Hands To Myself, and Same Old Love as well as old favourites, Who Says and Love You Like A Love Song.
Nevertheless, the concert had drawn disapproval from Islamist party PAS, with Datuk Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi (Selangor executive councillor in charge of Islamic Affairs) commending mosques throughout the state to carry out special prayers to pray for the cancellation of the American singer’s performance.

As Selena Gomez thrilled thousands of fans in Stadium Malawati, Shah Alam, last night, some 20 members of an Islamic group performed solat hajat (special prayers) and recited Yasin just outside the concert venue.
We guess that Selena Gomez really did Kill Em With Kindness in the end. Till next time!
