In case you’ve been away on vacation on another planet and don’t know what’s been going on, don’t worry, it’s not too late to join the #KimExposedTaylorParty. What party? Well, just so you know, the biggest Hollywood feud is happening as we speak. Yes, we’re talking about the whole Kanye West – Kim Kardashian – Taylor Swift drama that’s taking the entertainment world by storm.
The feud started out way back in 2009 when Kanye West took the mic
from Taylor Swift while she was delivering her acceptance speech after winning the Best Music Video Award at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs)
. After that, everything just went downhill and their turmoil went on for years. Last year, the duo patched things up during the MTV VMAs
(Déjà vu much?) when Swift presented West with the Vanguard award and everyone thought finally, there’ll be a happy ending.

Last Sunday, their short-lived truce came to an end. Another vortex to hell was opened thanks to Kim Kardashian, after she uploaded a series of videos to her Snapchat account exposing Swift who previously claimed that she did not acknowledge the lyrics West used in his song “Famous”. The lyrics were referring to her. The videos were a recording of Kanye talking to Taylor on the phone discussing about the song. It appears that Swift had indeed acknowledged the lyrics and Yeezy was just “trying to be a good friend” by letting her know first-hand.
T.Swift’s camp is strangely quiet right now after she received public backlash following the exposure. Well, to be honest, we’ve had enough of this whole beef between Kanye and Taylor. Will it ever come to an end? Who knows? In the meantime, let’s travel through time and look back at some of the majors feuds that have happened in the entertainment industry.
Miley Cyrus vs. Nicki Minaj
Image: The Daily Beast
Who could ever forget what went down during the 2015 MTV VMAs
? This iconic line delivered so effortlessly and full of confidence by Nicki Minaj will forever go down in history.
Nicki looked like she’s about to pounce on Miley with a wrecking ball and drag her through the gates of hell. Meanwhile, everyone back at home was as stunned as Rebel Wilson in the background. The Hannah Montana
star was definitely caught off guard and was in disbelief. She kept it professional and replied “Hey, we’re all in this industry, we all do interviews, and we know how they manipulate sh**. Nicki, congratulations.”
So, what led to this epic drama that was televised to millions of people across the globe? It all started in July last year, when Minaj tweeted a series of disappointed tweets shortly after the 2015 MTV VMAs
nominations were announced. Her video for her song “Anaconda” failed to be nominated for the Music Video of The Year award and Best Choreography award. The rapper felt that White supremacy played a role in determining the nominations.
Later on, in an interview with the New York Times
, Cyrus dished out her opinions about Minaj’s statements. She told them that Nicki isn’t too kind or very polite. Miley later added “If you want to make it about race, there’s a way you could do that. But don’t make it just about yourself.”
Nicki did not respond to her statement and kept quiet. We guess she was keeping it for the big show – the 2015 MTV VMAs
. Earlier this year, Nicki Minaj was featured on a track with rapper, Yo Gotti which she took a jab
at Miley during the whole MTV VMAs
incident. Looks like there’s no signs of reconciliation for these two.
Priyanka Chopra vs. Kareena Kapoor
Priyanka Chopra has spread her wings and is currently making a mark in Hollywood. She currently has a lead role in the hit TV series, Quantico
and also an upcoming role in the remake of Baywatch
. Kareena Kapoor on the other hand, may claim
that Hollywood isn’t made for her, but she’s happy working back at home and has a few films coming out soon.
The pair first worked together in the movie Aitraaz
back in 2004. Both of them hit it off pretty well and instantly became very good friends. Few years past by and it was reported that they started to drift apart. Rumours of their catfights surfaced but both actresses maintained that they just haven’t been in touch for a while.

Despite their denials, there were reports
that during a rehearsal for an award function performance, Kareena had threatened to walkout because her rehearsal slot was delayed after Priyanka took up some of her time slot.
In 2012, Kareena Kapoor appeared on the talk show Koffee with Karan
and lashed out at Priyanka’s unnatural accent by asking “I wonder where Priyanka got her accent from.” The news didn’t go down too well with Priyanka Chopra and she later responded “I want to tell Kareena that I got my accent from the same place where her boyfriend got his.” The boyfriend in question was Saif Ali Khan, who is now Kareena’s husband. Priyanka was referring to Saif’s education overseas.
Recently, the two seem to have buried the hatchet and moved on to better things. Priyanka praised Kareena for the success of her film, Ki and Ka
, via her Twitter account. Kareena in turn, praised the actress for her new Hollywood fame and achievements. Congratulations to both of them for turning over a new leaf and empowering each other’s accomplishments.
2Pac vs. Notorious B.I.G

If you grew up circa the 90s, we’re pretty sure you’re familiar with the two biggest hip-hop stars of the 1990s – 2Pac and Notorious B.I.G. Despite having friendly relations previously, the pair’s feud started out because of an East Coast – West Coast hip-hop rivalry. So, what exactly led up to this beef that resulted in both of their murders?
In 1994, Tupac Shakur was shot five times at a Manhattan recording studio with two of those shots hitting his head. He survived the bloody incident and suspected Biggie and his mentor, P.Diddy for being the masterminds behind the shoot. Following the incident, both of these rappers released songs that dissed each other and mentioned the shooting in songs such as “Who Shot Ya?” and “Hit ‘Em Up.”
The spat went on for years and eventually peaked when Tupac was shot at a traffic light after attending a Mike Tyson boxing match in 1996. He eventually died after six days of internal bleeding. Obviously, people pointed fingers to his biggest rival, Biggie Smalls. He wasn’t convicted of Tupac’s murder and this case remained as a mystery until today.
Ironically, a year after Tupac’s death, Notorious B.I.G was also fatally killed in a drive-by shooting. His assailant remains unidentified up to today. P.Diddy released the mega-hit, “I’ll Be Missing You” the same year, which was dedicated to Biggie.
The eerie part about both of these cases are both of them have some similarities and remain unsolved up until today despite the evidence found and conspiracy theory surrounding it.

Will the assailants finally come forward or the case will eventually be solved? Only time will tell.
Nicki Minaj vs. Mariah Carey
Image: The Daily Mail
Who wouldn’t be surprised when you put two divas together on one show and not expect some drama? That’s what happened to Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey when both of them appeared on American Idol
in 2013 as a judge. Despite working well together for a song back in 2010, the pair had negative vibes since the start of the show.
Watch their interaction below:
Minaj and Carey got into a really heated argument with a lot of curse words exchanged. Even the show’s host, Ryan Seacrest, admitted that it went a little too far. Both of them tried to play nice during the following audition weeks but it wasn’t long till the claws came back for the live shows.
Right before the live shows, Nicki Minaj appeared on the Ellen Degeneres Show and talked about her experience working with Nick Cannon’s former wife. It was all praises for Mariah but her face changed when Ellen asked her about the live shows. Let’s just say she’s not too thrilled about it.
Here's an excerpt of what happened during the live shows:
A few years later after American Idol
ended, Mariah Carey admitted during an interview that her judging stint on the show was “the worst experience of my life” and she'd never do it again. She also slammed the show for pitting two females against each other, which wasn’t cool.
Of course, Nicki Minaj did not want to miss out on the opportunity to address their feud. She was quoted in an interview saying, “Imagine someone that you loved your whole life. Imagine you meeting them and then all of a sudden feeling like you did something horrible to them but you just don’t know what you did. That’s what my relationship with Mariah is, and that’s what it’s been from the beginning.”
Well we got to admit, seeing both of them quarrelling over petty stuff on live TV was pretty entertaining. Guess that whole season was sort of dedicated to both of them instead of the contestants. Fast forward to 2016, did they make up? We’re not quite sure, but it seems that they’ve moved on and have no interest in each other’s lives.
Shah Rukh Khan vs. Salman Khan
Image: India Today
Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan are not strangers to Bollywood movies or even here in Malaysia. These established actors have worked numerous times on screen and have maintained a friendly relationship off-screen. Who would’ve thought that these two lads would eventually go on a ‘cold war’ with each other.
Things went sour in 2008 when Shah Rukh Khan attended Salman Khan’s former girlfriend, Katrina Kaif's birthday bash. Perhaps they had a little too much to drink, and some words said went out of line. Rumour
has it that Shah Rukh Khan made some nasty remarks about Salman’s other ex-flame, Aishwarya Rai and the two ended up in a big fight. Salman Khan has a long history of being hot-tempered so you can imagine what might’ve gone down that night. Since the incident, the two have distanced themselves from each other.

In 2014, Shah Rukh Khan addressed the fight and said
that the media was to be blamed for over dramatizing their fight and their relationship isn’t as bad as portrayed by the press.
Last year, during Shah Rukh Khan’s 50th birthday celebration, Salman Khan showed up to his party. The pair was seen being really friendly with each other, crushing the rumours of their so-called cold war. Shah Rukh Khan even posted this brotherly photo of them on his Twitter account:
Guess fans of both stars have something to smile about at the end of the day. We’re really happy (and envious) of the close bond that they both share and hope it'll maintain for many years to come.
