Gorillaz’ New Album is Scheduled to Drop in 2017
If you’ve never heard of hits from the early 2000s such as Clint Eastwood, 19-2000, or even Feel Good Inc., chances are you’re too young to recognize who the Gorillaz are. The virtual band created in 1998 by Damon Albarn of Blur and comic book artist, Jamie Hewlett is set to release a new studio album next year. The news was confirmed by Hewlett himself via an Instagram post on a Gorillaz fan page on Instagram, @gorillaz.northamerica. He was quoted saying the new album will be “really special” and “can’t be rushed”.

Fans who have been anxiously waiting for their new material since their last album in 2011 are probably crying buckets of tears. Some flooded Twitter to share the news while others left comments on Albarn and Hewlett’s Instagram page to express their excitement. One of the fans was quoted saying “Aw man, I just heard the album's coming out next year! Well, I've already been waiting for new material for 4 years, so I guess I can wait 6-18 more months.”

Hewlett has also been teasing fans with new illustrations of the Gorillaz via his Instagram.
