Be prepared to be really, really still - again!
This year's unexpected horror film 'A Quiet Place' made us hold on to the edge of our seats, and in a couple of years' time, we get to do that all over again!
Paramount Pictures chairman Jim Gianopulos told the crowd at CinemaCon on Wednesday that a sequel is already in the works.
“We’re thrilled to say that we’re already working on the sequel to ‘A Quiet Place
,'” Gianopulos was quoted by entertainment site Variety
However, he did not reveal any details about the sequel, so for now, we do not know 1) if the stars of the first film John Krasinski and Emily Blunt will return and 2) when the sequel is going to be released.
All we do know is that the idea of a sequel makes absolutely perfect sense.
The horror-thriller about a family of four trying to survive a post-apocalyptic world overrun by monsters that hunt by sound has received very positive reviews from the general public (it is 95 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes) and has earned truck loads of money at the box office.
According to Box Office Mojo
, 'A Quiet Place' has so far raked in a total of USD215mil (RM843mil)
It may not look like a lot if compared to the likes of 'Fast & Furious
' or 'Black Panther
', but the film only costs USD17mil to make, so that's a massive win for the film studio.
We don't know about you, but we can't wait to be scared sh*tless again in the cinema.
