Fifteen years ago, "The Boy Who Lived" was introduced to the world and ignited a phenomenon that no one could’ve ever expected. The movie, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone was released on November 16, 2001. Everyone was treated to the magical fantasy world of Harry Potter, an alternate world beyond our wildest imaginations that was brought to life from the infamous Harry Potter series penned by author, J.K. Rowling. The Harry Potter series not only created a whole new level of fandom, it also caused us muggles to secretly hope we were of wizard descendent, in order to receive the coveted Hogwarts enrollment letter.

In case you forgot how we were introduced to this enchanting world, here’s the trailer for the first installment of the popular Harry Potter series:

A lot of things have taken place within 15 years, some cast members had a very successful career post-Harry Potter, while others have sadly, left us eternally. The last movie of the franchise, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 was aired back in 2011, marking the end of the Harry Potter era. Fans were devastated and hoped to see a glimpse of their favourite wizard someday. It wasn’t long until talks of a movie about an extension from the Harry Potter universe began, that helped restored some faith in fans. The movie in question, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is scheduled to air on the silver screen starting this Thursday.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone left an eminent impact and changed the world's perspective when it comes to magic and wizards. The movie recruited some of the industry’s big names such as the late Alan Rickman and Maggie Smith. But there were three kids that the movie gave a more prominent impact on their careers thanks to their roles – Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Emma Watson (Hermoine Granger), and Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley). This loveable trio captivated the whole world and instantly became an icon in pop culture.
