Inventing a fish-lion hybrid and introducing it as the personification of your country is pretty rock and roll don't you think? Picture this: leaders of an infant nation meet in a board room, and someone says, "What about we create a lion that swims like a fish? With frickin' lasers for eyes so everyone will fear us." Sadly, they stuck with only the lion head and a fish. We forget our point. Oh right, Scorpions.
Live from Singapore, Scorpions 50th Anniversary Tour on Friday, October 21, 2016, 8pm at Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre. Rock and roll fans are scheduled for head-banging and slick guitar solos once again. Anyone with a set of ears know Winds of Change, Rock You Like a Hurricane, and Still Loving You. We also recall rock and metal being lambasted as satanist and prudes tuning into ABBA and the Bee Gees instead.
For all you rockers with scorpion tequila still on your breath, tickets go on sale July 4, 2016 and standard ticket prices are SGD168, SGD158 (group), SGD148, SGD128, SGD108, and SGD98. Or as we like to call it in Malaysia, heavy extortion, extortion, extremely expensive, very expensive, expensive, and Singapore so far-lah, respectively. At the time of writing the exchange rate is exactly SGD1 = RM3 so do the math accordingly.
There's a two-day pre-sale at http://www.lamcproductions.com that starts at 9am on July 2 and July 3 with pre-sale tickets at SGD158 (standing) or RM474. Pre-sale ticket owners will also get priority entry into the concert venue, so be quick. For standard ticket sales, tickets go up 9am on www.sistic.com.sg and 10am at all other places. We'd end this post with a greatest hits video on YouTube for you but we know the true blue Scorpion fans still have their cassette tapes playing on their Philips boombox. Instead, why not find out what the Scorpions' webpage looks like in 2016 here.
